With the news of David Bowie’s death on Jan 10th, 2016, we decided to pay homage to the rock legend by looking back at his often under-appreciated film roles. Specifically, Christopher Nolan’s magician masterpiece, The Prestige.
In it, two bitterly dueling magicians keep upping the ante in a bid to become the world’s greatest showman. Robert Angier (played by Hugh Jackman) struggles to keep up with his nemesis, Alfred Borden (Christian Bale), and thus seeks out the reclusive Nikola Tesla (David Bowie) in search of assistance with a new trick he’s devising.
